That's a wrap

Thank you to everyone who came out for the 7th Annual FORR 5k!

Congratulations to our overall winners, Dan Vassallo (16:06) and new women's course record holder Lindsay Willard (17:39) and to all the age-group award winners and finishers.

Searchable results are here.

Results are also posted at Coolrunning.

We will post pictures here soon. Thanks again and we hope to see you next year.

Race day!

It's race day! The race starts at 6:30pm at Memorial Park (on Harrison Street) in Reading. If you did not pre-register, there will be race-day registration starting at 5pm at the park.

It is going to be very hot so please take care to stay cool and hydrated as much as possible today. We will have a water stop on Timberneck Drive, a little past half way, and there will plenty of water and slush at the finish to cool down with. Today is not the day to try and set a personal best so please be safe, listen to your body, and slow down if you have to.

There is plenty of shade at the park and there will be a climbing wall for kids (and kids at heart) so come on out and enjoy this warm summer night.

We will run the race rain or shine unless there is lightening nearby. Actually lets all do a rain dance (but please no lightning dances!)

See you there!

The 2013 FORR 5k is coming!

Somewhere in Pennsylvania this morning a rodent saw his shadow meaning spring is on its way probably. And what's after spring? That's right, summer! It's never too early to start planning your summer road racing schedule around THE social/athletic event of the year, the Friends of Reading Recreation 5k Road Race.

This year's date is Thursday, July 18th, 2013.  Check back for registration details in the coming weeks.

Happy running!

2012 Results!

Thank you to everyone who came out to run, walk, volunteer or cheer on a family member last night!  What a perfect summer night for it.

On the women's side we had a new course record by Katrina Gravel in 18:32.

The men's winner, Dan Vassallo, just missed the record, coming in in 15:30.
